Block 2 Bank Fishing Lessons

Our Fishing Lessons give kids of all ages a chance to get outside, connect with nature, and learn the lifelong skill of fishing—all for free!
These hands-on lessons are open to children of all ages and experience levels. Whether it's their first time holding a fishing rod or they’re ready to learn new techniques, our program offers a safe, fun, and encouraging environment to grow.

Fishing teaches patience, focus, responsibility, and respect for the outdoors—skills that go far beyond the water’s edge. Join us and help your child discover a new hobby, make new friends, and build confidence one cast at a time.

Beginner Lessons

  • These lessons are great for students holding a fishing rod for the very first time or those still getting comfortable with fishing basics such as casting, retrieving, putting on baits, etc.

  • Lessons for Beginners are held every Sunday, with the exceptions of holidays.

Intermediate/Advanced

  • These lessons are best for students that are familiar with fishing techniques and have worked with us before or has prior experience with handling fishing equipment.

  • We offer three different lessons—

    • Tuesdays at Antietam Lake Park

    • Wednesdays & Thursdays at Ontelaunee Lake

  • We are a nonprofit organization with a mission to give kids more exposure to nature and teach them the benefits of the great outdoors.

    We do this by focusing on the sport of Fishing to help children find connection with something outside of the city streets they live on.

  • Students 6+ years old are welcome to register and participate in any of our fishing lessons!

    *please note children 16+ need a fishing license and must contact us prior to the event so we can provide that for you. Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay and be involved during the lesson!

    Wednesdays: 5-7 PM Ontelaunee Lake, Leesport PA
    Thursdays: 5-7 PM Ontelaunee Lake, Leesport PA
    Sundays: 12-330 PM
    Stonecliff Rec Area, Reading PA

  • You must complete the registration form for your child in order for them to participate.

    Block 2 Bank Fishing with provide all the equipment and supplies for your child to participate, including floatation life vests. (FREE OF CHARGE)

    Please dress your child in clothes appropriate for the outdoors and getting dirty. Secure, closed-toe shoes are required.
